Sweet Olga commissioned the design of a custom portrait depicting her and her loved one. She chose to print on camvas, dimensions: 120x60cm. From what she told me, the portrait will be used to decorate their bedroom. I wish they have a beautiful day every time they view their portrait :)

Papiera with her playful papier mache sculptures, commissioned me with the renewal of her site's banner which I had design a year ago. So this time, I designed a full body portrait in tones of blue.
Don't forget to visit Papiera's site and check out her creations! In Facebook you can find her here! I present you a series of commissioned digital portraits I undertook during April-May and they were destined for a surprise! I used 3 photographs and I had to design various versions. Here are some of my favorites.
One of the commissioned couple portraits I have designed found its way in this beautifully decorated house which is featured in April's edition of "Idaniko Spiti / Ideal Home" decoration magazine.
Following the widely acclaimed success of the 15th edition of ART-ATHINA last May, the International Contemporary Art Fair of Athens is back with its 16th edition which will take place on 13 - 16 May 2010. Despite the big internatio nal financial crisis, 58 galleries form 11 countries (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Turkey, USA) will participate this year as well, showcasing the work of more than 300 artists. Among the Greek and foreign galleries, a lot have participated many times in the fair and others will be hosted for the first time, a fact that underlines the international profile of ART-ATHINA. The fair also presents 42 institutions related to contemporary art (museums, foundations, art publishers and media). ART-ATHINA 2010 will once more be hosted at the Faliro Pavilion (TaeKwonDo), which was transformed last year into a sparkling islet of art for four days leaving all visitors and participants with the best impressions. What you probably don’t know is that this year artAZ is participating at the Fair, in the Cultural Institutions section. What do we have in store for you? For now it is a closely guarded secret that we are not at liberty to reveal. We’ll let you in on it VERY soon – it is a promise. Come back in time to be the first to know or come back later for the full review!

For more photos from the festival, take a look at my EyeCandies Blog ! Eva Topalidou, founder of the amazing Rdeco blog that focuses on decoration, asked me to organize an interview in order to present my work.
Click here in order to read the full interview. (It is in Greek). Thank you very much Eva! During February the greek online site for children entertainment Elamazi, organized a contest with presents, one of which was a Digital Portrait designed by me. Lucky mom is Silia and this is the artwork I designed for her. I prompted her to select a wooden frame as I believe it would combine beautifully with the colors in the illustration!
An art event for the homeless of Athens
300 works of art are waiting for you to discover their creator’s identity! You were introduced to it, you loved it and you supported it. Now SURPRISE! returns bigger and stronger. After its extremely successful debut last February the art event for the homeless of Athens is back on, with more artists, more works and a bigger desire to offer. I'm very happy to be a part of this great initiative with one of my pieces! artAZ, in association with the City of Athens Homeless Center (KYADA) and the support of City of Athens Technopolis, invites 300 contemporary artists to express themselves and contribute to a giant feast of love and offering. Contributing artists will especially create for SURPRISE a work of art each. The works are the same size and have the same price tag. What is the surprise? They are all signed at the back so the artist’s identity remains hidden until after you have bought the work! The exhibition starts online here at artAZ, January 7. We will be adding new works daily, to February 18, 2010. Between 19-21 February the exhibition will move to City of Athens Technopolis in order for you to see the works live and for the sale to take place. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to KYADA for the support of its work. We look forward to welcoming you, January 7 onwards, to SURPRISE together! |
